Host a Fun Despicable Me Minion Party

If you’re here reading this post, you know about Minions. These cute little guys are always up to something, full of gibberish and creating chaos.

How similar is that to a kid’s birthday party? 😉

Just kidding.

Maybe.

Anyway, Minions and Despicable Me make a fun theme for a party, right?

Here are some Minion party decorations and Minion Craft Ideas to decorate your space and make your party fun.

Kids will love to see the ones you make, and you could even use these ideas as a party craft activity!

Minion Pool Noodle Crafts

Making pool noodle Minions for your party is easy!

Start with these smaller pool noodle Minions.

This size would be great for kids to make, too – they easily fit into a kid’s hands, and you could have the parts already assembled into a “craft kit” for each child!

Minion Pool Noodle craft and supplies

Just put the noodle, googly eyes, mouth, pants, and goggle strap into a baggie and place it in a little party favor bag.

Make a craft station for the Minion kits, scissors, and bottle of glue which will be safer than a glue gun for the little ones. You could even have the mouth pre-cut for safety.

This Minion craft can double as a party favor and a craft “to do” project for your event.

Use the black felt to make a mouth.

Glue the ribbons on to the noodle.

Glue the eyes on the noodle over the silver ribbon.

If you want your Minion to have hair, poke small pieces of pipe cleaner into the top for a little (or a lot of) hair.

Pool Noodle Minions

Instructions

Use the knife to cut a 12-inch piece from the yellow pool noodle. For instructions on cutting pool noodles, see this post: How to Cut Pool Noodles.

Cut a piece of rhinestone ribbon long enough to fit around the noodle

Cut a piece of denim ribbon the same length for the pants.

Attach a piece of the electrical tape around the noodle to make a strap for the goggles.

Empty the wax from the tea light holders so you just have the metal container left.

Glue the googly eyes into the metal tea light containers.

Then, glue the metal containers to the strap to complete the goggles.

Use the black felt to make a mouth.

Glue the mouth onto the noodle.

Glue the rhinestone ribbon on to the noodle.

Glue the denim ribbon to the noodle around the bottom to make the pants.

If you want your Minion to have hair, poke small pieces of pipe cleaner into the top for a little (or a lot of) hair.

Tips (Reading this before you start is a good idea)

When adding the tape and ribbon, be sure to make all the ends meet in the back so they don’t show when you’re all done.

Have fun with this project. No way is wrong. However you do it is perfect!
